In working with clay, I have found a medium that allows me to visually define my ability to create.

My work explores the functional qualities of pottery in our everyday lives while pushing each piece beyond traditional shapes and styles.

I have been working with clay for more than 30 years and feel that I have only touched the surface of a huge reservoir of exciting avenues in this art form. My early career and practical experience in fashion design provides a foundation for my work in ceramics. I continue to explore the expression, imagination and judgment that that are necessary to create fun and exciting functional pottery.

My primary interests are in high fire, wheel thrown stoneware, though I am actively studying additional approaches to throwing and hand building. I look forward to experiments with firing techniques in raku, barrel firing, salt firing, and possibly crystalline glazing.
